How Premium listings work
Find a Dentist helps you find dental practices across Australia. Some practices pay for a Premium listing. This page explains what that means for your results.
What a Premium listing is
A practice with a Premium listing pays Find a Dentist for it. Premium is available by application; we approve each Premium listing before it goes live. Some Premium practices are clients of JR Marketing Group, the business that operates Find a Dentist.
A Premium result is marked Premium, with this note: "This is a paid Premium listing. Premium listings are shown above other matching results and are ordered by how well they match your search, using each practice's stored details."
How your results are put together
- You tell us what you need. For example your suburb or town, the kind of care you're looking for, and anything else that matters to you, such as opening days or languages spoken.
- We work out what you're looking for. Our software, with help from an AI service or keyword matching, works out what you've asked for. It then compares that with the details we store about each practice, which come from the practice or from public sources.
- We find the practices that match. Only practices that are a relevant match for your search can appear.
- Premium listings that match are shown above the other results. If more than one Premium listing is a relevant match, they are shown together, ordered by how well each one matches your search. The other results follow, also ordered by how well they match. Where a practice is counts as part of how well it fits, and when practices fit equally well the nearer one comes first. What a Premium listing does and doesn't do
It does: move a Premium practice above the other results when that practice is a relevant match for your search.
It doesn't:
• add a practice to your results if it doesn't match your search
• change what we say about a practice in "Why we recommend"
• mean we recommend or endorse the practice, or say anything about the quality of its care
• hide other practices from your results
Emergencies and urgent care
If your search sounds like an emergency, we show an emergency notice first. In an emergency call 000 or go to your nearest hospital emergency department. Find a Dentist is a search tool, not an emergency service.
In an emergency or urgent search, a Premium listing is only placed above others if the practice's stored details show that it offers emergency or urgent dental care. Practice details can be out of date, so please call the practice first to check.
When nothing is placed above other results
If we don't know your location, or no practice matches your search, no Premium listing is placed above others.
Who runs Find a Dentist
Find a Dentist is a trading name of JR Marketing Group Pty Ltd (ABN 90 606 960 721). Some listed practices are clients of JR Marketing Group. JR Marketing Group also provides marketing services to some dental practices.
Contacting a practice
Phone, email and booking links on a listing go straight to the practice. They use the phone number, email address and booking link from the practice's own details. Find a Dentist doesn't take enquiries or bookings for practices.
Your information
We don't pass on your search or personal details to practices, whether or not they have a Premium listing. We don't collect your contact details through practice listings to pass them to practices. We do process your search text after removing obvious personal details, and we keep an anonymous search log. Our Privacy Policy explains how. Once you contact or book with a practice, that practice's own privacy policy applies to what you give it.
